A moment of enjoyment. It can be anything from a smile to a new car. A cool picture or a grand child. Then in that moment of time and space, you see and feel, how much the world really matters.

I have a gift for you. Here in my little salon in Playa del Inglés I have always tried to get the best stuff for my guests.Also I am not always happy with the pictures that I get from the firms that sell shampoo. Therefore I find it important to make my own pictures. I have the idea, I do the make up and the styling. With the help of my wonderful colleagues, we all work our magic and it all comes together into the new picture going onto the salon wall. From the depths of my dark twisted fantasy, born in the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, living in the warm waters off the Amadores Beach in Gran Canary.

Underwater photography is tricky business.
All that floating sensation comes with a price.
Fortunately Rolf the photographer has done a lot before and both Angela and he are used to scuba diving.
Everything was special, the hair the make up, the clothes, the model, the photographer -you name it.
Although constantly gasping for air we managed to find that moment of serenity, that moment when time stands still.
Rolf Krebs comes from Germany, he flew in to do this shoot and work his magic. Rolf normally does underwater and high octane landscape pictures. He also loves women and is happy to focus on one. You could say it makes him stop breathing for a moment.
Angela Faryes also does photography and is a model and a scuba diver. The only person near here that could do the job! As she knows what I was looking for she only had to do it, easier said than done.
Also at the cost of her precious oxygen she managed to pull it off. Angela lives here and does photo shoots regularly with me. Both in front and behind. If you are interested in a (overwater) mermaid shoot, take a look at her website and facebook. She will transform you!
Tamas Szigeti was the best colleague you could have. We went to Madrid to buy our supplies at Burlesque professional theatre supplies shop together.
There we found a very professional shop with some really helpful guys that love there work as much as we do ours. 5 bags we brought back to our island in the sun.
We did one test shoot to see how the make up looked under water and what the hair looked like.
All our work was washed off by the sea in only 40 minutes. We had to fortify the hair and make a lot more to get the shots we wanted. Working without oxygen is not like any other shoot.
Tom was the captain of the boat on the surface but was utterly helpless to do any alterations to the styling as everything of course -was wet.
On the day we did what we could with multiple layers of make up and tons of glue, knowing all to well that there is no force stronger than mother nature.
But as you know, only dead fish swim with the currant so we had to fight for what we wanted.
When Angela went down and transformed into Coralia -we prayed for the magic.
This day was much better, there are so many variables shooting under water.
Is the sea clear, what color is it today? Will it get choppy? How long will the make up work?
Angela was well warmed up, Rolf had his equipment tuned in and we had done what was possible.
This time we got it!

After that it was shower time, glue remover and tons of conditioner.
We met up again at the cool Samsara restaurant to celebrate, gin and tonics, champagne and a menu full of fish.
The chef here is not only good but he also make a picture on your plate. This is Coralia the Mermaid in full food color!

HOY ES UN DIA MUY ESPECIAL!!
Cada día es especial pero HOY he decidido comenzar con mi BLOG, FRDK!!
Eso quiere decir que yo, Frederick Cleverly con la ayuda de mis amigos y colegas vamos a presentar que es lo que va a pasar en nuestro mundo, y todo PARA TI!
Tu eres muy importante para nosotros, TU eres muy importante para mi. Porque, como puedes ver TU y YO juntos hacemos este mundo y actualmente significa mas de lo que puedas imaginar.
Algunas veces este mundo es tan frenético y caótico que uno puede pensar que realmente nada importa, y entonces algo te sorprende. Un momento de satisfacción. Puede ser cualquier cosa… un coche nuevo, una sonrisa. Una foto bonita, o un nieto.
Entonces en ese momento en el espacio y en el tiempo, tu ves y sientes que el mundo realmente importa.

Tengo un regalo para ti.
Aquí en mi pequeño salón en Playa del Inglés yo siempre he tratado de conseguir los mejores productos para mis invitados.
Además, no siempre estoy contento con las fotos que recibo de las marcas que venden champú.
Por lo tanto me parece importante tomar mis propias fotos. Yo tengo la idea, y yo hago el maquillaje y el peinado. Con la ayuda de mis maravillosos compañeros, todos hacemos nuestra magia y se ha unido en la nueva foto que va en la pared del salón.
Desde el fondo de mi oscura y retorcida fantasía, nacida en el fondo del Océano Atlántico, ella vive en las cálidas aguas de la Playa de Amadores, Gran Canaria. Te presentamos:
Coralia la Sirena!!
Nacida para complacerte y para inspirarte, estamos muy orgullosos de traerte a Coralia la sirena. Ella te seducirá para que formes parte de su fantasía.Te seduce para que entres en su mundo líquido de belleza y sorpresa, donde nada está prohibido y cualquier cosa puede ocurrir. La fotografía submarina es un asunto complicado. Toda esa sensación de estar flotando tiene su precio.
Afortunadamente Rolf el fotógrafo tiene mucha experiencia y tanto Ángela cómo el acostumbran a bucear con frecuencia.
Todo fue especial, el cabello, el maquillaje, la ropa, la modelo, el fotógrafo, todo fue distinto.
Aunque, respirando constantemente y con dificultad logramos ese momento de serenidad, ese momento en el que el tiempo se detiene.
Rolf Krebs procede de Alemania, voló desde allí para realizar esta sesión y hacer su magia. Rolf hace normalmente un trabajo de alto contenido de adrenalina bajo el agua y en fotografía de paisajes. También ama a las mujeres y se ha sentido muy feliz de retratar a una. Se podría decir que te deja sin respiración durante un momento.
Ángela Faryes también es fotógrafa, modelo y hace submarinismo. Ella era la única persona de la zona que yo conozca que podía hacer este trabajo! Ella sabía lo que yo buscaba y solamente tenía que ponerse a hacerlo, es mas sencillo decirlo que hacerlo.
También a costa de su preciado oxígeno ella se las arregló para llevar a cabo el trabajo. Ella vive en la isla y hace sesiones de fotos regularmente conmigo. Tanto en el papel de fotógrafo, como en el de la modelo. Si usted está interesado en una sesión de fotos de sirena (fuera del agua), puede echar un vistazo a su página web y a su Facebook. Tamas Szigeti es el mejor compañero que puedes tener. Fuimos a Madrid a comprar juntos nuestros productos profesionales a Burlesque. Allí encontramos un comercio muy cordial, con unos dependientes que nos trataron con mucha cercanía y profesionalidad. Nos trajimos de allí cinco bolsas hasta nuestra soleada isla.
Hicimos una sesión de prueba para ver como se veía el maquillaje bajo el agua, y que tal quedaba el pelo.
Todo nuestro trabajo se lo llevó el mar en menos de cuarenta minutos. Tuvimos que reforzar el pelo y trabajar mucho mas para conseguir las fotos que queríamos. Trabajar sin oxígeno no es lo mismo que hacer otro tipo de sesiones de fotos.
Tom era el capitán del barco en la superficie, pero era totalmente imposible para el hacer ninguna modificación en el estilismo, ya que por supuesto, estaba todo mojado.
El día que finalmente hicimos lo que pudimos, con múltiples capas de maquillaje, y toneladas de pegamento, sabiendo demasiado bien que no hay fuerza mas poderosa que la de la madre naturaleza.
Pero como ustedes saben solamente los peces muertos se dejan llevar por la corriente, así que tuvimos que luchar por lo que queríamos.
Cuando Ángela se sumergió y se transformó en Coralia nosotros rezamos para que se produjera la magia.
Ese día fue mucho mejor, habían muchas mas instantáneas diferentes que hacer bajo el agua.
¿Está mas claro hoy el mar, de que color es hoy? ¿Estará revuelto? ¿Cuánto tiempo nos llevará el hacer el trabajo?
Ángela se había preparado bien, Rolf tenía su equipo listo y se hizo lo que se pudo.
Esta vez lo conseguimos!
La sirenita!
Después ya era hora de una ducha, de retirar todo el pegamento y las toneladas de laca.
Nos reunimos de nuevo en el estupendo restaurante Samsara para celebrarlo. Gin tonics, champán y un menú con mucho pescado.
El chef allí no solamente es bueno, también te dibuja un cuadro en tu plato. Esta es Coralia la sirena, dibujada con colorantes comestibles.
